When to book a World Cruise

One of the most common questions I receive is, “Sarah, how far in advance do I really need to book my world cruise?”

My answer is simple: the sooner, the better.

Booking a world cruise 18 to 24 months in advance comes with some major advantages. One of the biggest benefits is having a better selection of staterooms. When you’re preparing for a journey that may last four months or longer, choosing the right room can make a big difference in your overall comfort and enjoyment.

Early booking also gives you more time to plan financially. Instead of making one large payment close to departure, you may be able to spread out your investment over many months, which can make the process feel much more manageable. For many travelers, that flexibility is a huge advantage.

Another reason to book early is the extra time it gives you to research your itinerary. With 50 or more ports on many world cruises, there is so much to look forward to. Planning ahead can be part of the fun — from learning about each destination to deciding which excursions, tours, and experiences you want to enjoy along the way.

That said, don’t worry if you haven’t booked 18 months in advance. There are still often great options available, and sometimes itineraries become available closer to sailing. Whether you are just starting to dream or are ready to reserve your voyage, there is still time to create an incredible experience.

I’m here to guide you through every step of the process, from selecting the right cruise to finalizing the details before departure. No matter where you are in your planning journey, I’d be happy to help.

Helping you sail the world, one port at a time. - Sarah
